Muradnagar accident: EO Niharika Singh, Junior Engineer Chandrapal and Supervisor Ashish arrested.
Police have arrested builder Ajay Tyagi in the Muradnagar crematorium incident. In a statement to the police, Ajay Tyagi said that he had given a bribe of Rs 16 lakh to the officers while building the crematorium.
Ajay Tyagi has told that he used to give 30 percent commission to officers. Ajay also told that he got this contract for 50 lakh rupees. According to the media report, Ajay has admitted in his statement that he used substandard material to make the roof of the crematorium. Not only here, sand was used more than cement.
Action taken on these officers
Police reached Ghaziabad late night with accused Ajay Tyagi. Earlier on Monday morning, Muradnagar Municipality’s EO Niharika Singh, Junior Engineer Chandrapal and Supervisor Ashish were arrested and presented in the court, from where all were sent to jail for 14 days judicial custody.
Orders have been given to impose NSA (rasuka) against the accused engineer and contractor. At the same time, the guilty engineer and contractor have also been asked to recover the entire loss. He has also ordered officers to blacklist the contractor.
Action will be taken against the accused under NSA. No culprit will be spared. The loss of government money from the construction work will be compensated from the contractor and engineer concerned. In a meeting with officers on Tuesday, the Chief Minister made it clear that if the quality of construction works is less than the standard, then DM and Commissioner will be responsible for it. Action will also be taken against the DM and Commissioner along with contractors and engineers.
According to sources, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed displeasure over the accident. An explanation has been sought from Commissioner Meerut Anita C Meshram and Ghaziabad DM Ajay Shankar Pandey. Many officers, including the commissioner and DM, may fall.
