More than 56.22 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine introduced in Turkey


As part of a mass vaccination campaign launched in Turkey on January 14, more than 56.22 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Health of the republic on Thursday.

According to the department, a total of more than 37.19 million people received the first doses, and more than 16.48 million people were fully vaccinated.

Over the past day, another 5,012 patients have recovered from a dangerous illness.

Another 5,171 cases of infection and 48 deaths were recorded.

The pandemic began with the discovery of the first cases of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan, Hubei province in central China at the end of December 2019.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about the outbreak of unknown pneumonia.
