Capcom has announced the launch of an open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam. PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS5 will have early access from October 28th to 30th, while everyone else can join the hunt from October 31st to November 3rd. And the good news is that cross-play will be active, so you can hunt monsters with your friends, whatever their gaming platform. During the open beta, it will be possible to experiment with different game modes. First of all, it will be possible to create your own custom hunter and, even more interesting, the creation data will be transferable to the full version of the game.
Furthermore, you will have a portion of the story at your disposal, which will allow you to take a first look at the beginning of the adventure and learn the basics of combat, culminating in a clash with a Chatacabra. Finally, it will be possible to try your hand at Doshaguma hunting, a free-roaming experience set in the Windward Plains, where you can face the pack leader of a group of Doshaguma or freely explore the area. Whether you decide to face these challenges alone or in the company of other hunters (up to a maximum of four players), the open beta will give a taste of the exciting adventures of the saga.
Capcom has released a new trailer, “The Black Flame”, which takes us to discover the Oil Basin, a new ecosystem full of dangers and mysterious creatures, including the monster that gives its name to the trailer. Additionally, Sony Interactive Entertainment will launch a limited edition DualSense wireless controller and PlayStation 5 cover dedicated to Monster Hunter Wilds, along with the launch of the title. Monster Hunter Wilds will release on February 28, 2025 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
