The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Aureliu Chokoy expressed condolences to his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in connection with the death of people in forest fires.
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of life as a result of the devastating forest fires in Turkey. On behalf of the ministry, I express my sincere condolences to Cavusoglu, ”the minister wrote on Twitter, noting the name of the Turkish minister in the tag.
Chokoy thanked the Turkish authorities for the support of Moldovan tourists.
Cavusoglu, in turn, thanked his colleague for condolences and solidarity with Turkey.
On Monday, August 2, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli said that over the past 5 days, 125 out of 132 forest fires have been localized or extinguished in Turkey. Seven fires continue.
16 aircraft, 9 UAVs, 51 helicopters, 1 unmanned helicopter, hundreds of pieces of equipment, more than 5 thousand firefighters are involved in extinguishing forest fires in Turkey.
Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu said that due to forest fires, the population of eight settlements of the country had been completely evacuated.
