Miss Kerala winners’ death: Commissioner says mystery is in the final stages of investigation

  • Everyone on the respondent list will be questioned again
  • Fishermen no longer search for hard disks
  • The search will continue today, the commissioner said

Kochi: Kochi City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju said that the investigation into the death of three people, including former Miss Kerala winners, in a road accident is in its final stages. He also said that there was suspicion that the DVR was destroyed in the case. According to Mathrubhumi News, he said the search was on for a hard disk containing hotel footage allegedly thrown into the lake.

Everyone on the defendant’s list in the case will be questioned again. Abdul Rahman, who was driving at the time of the accident, was called back on Monday to testify again. There are reports of inconsistencies in the statements. This will be compared with the statement of the party participants at the hotel.

The commissioner said it would be clear only after examining the CCTV footage whether police officers or other VIPs had attended the party. The case will now be overseen by a retired commissioner. Earlier, investigators had said there was no suspicion in the incident, but the commissioner said there was suspicion. He points out that common sense is enough to understand this.

Commissioner CH Nagaraju told mediapersons that common sense is enough to understand why there is a mystery in the incident when one considers why the DVR was destroyed. Investigate whether there is a link between the events at the hotel and the accidental death.
Police have launched an investigation into the lake under the Kannangadu bridge for a hard disk. The search was carried out using an underwater camera that could see the bottom of the lake.

The investigation team has stated that they will now seek the help of fishermen to search for the hard disk. The search for the hard disk in the lake on Tuesday was led by the Navy, Coast Guard and Coastal Police. There are reports that the hard disk got caught in the fisherman’s net and the fisherman, who could not recognize it, threw the disc back into the lake.

Meanwhile, Ansi Kabir’s father had met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and lodged a complaint yesterday. The complaint was lodged with the Chief Minister seeking to clear up the mystery surrounding the hard disk concealment which is believed to be crucial in the case.

The complaint to the CM said that the hard disk was hidden as part of an attempt to cover up what happened at the hotel and that Ansi and his friends, who had left the hotel happily, should be investigated as to why the car was being chased. After the meeting, the family said that the CM had assured them that it would be considered as a special case.
