Ludmila Denisova, Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the Ukrainian Parliament, stated that the court tried 4 people on terrorism charges.
The court sentenced Seyitömer Seyitömerov to 17 years, Osman Seyitömerov to 14 years, Rustem Seyitmemetov to 13 years and Amet Suleymanov to 12 years in prison.
30 activists detained
Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Ceppar said on Twitter that the Crimean Tatars are being systematically persecuted on the peninsula.
Expressing that the Crimean Tatars were put behind bars for a long time on absurd charges, Ceppar noted that they condemned the illegal decision of the court.
Ceppar also informed that 30 activists, including 2 journalists, were detained for protesting the decision.
