Mahindra launched the facelifted XUV400 in the Indian market yesterday. The carmaker has rebranded this new electric car as Mahindra XUV400 Pro. The company has introduced it with new features and refurbished cabin. The XUV300’s battery-powered sibling XUV400 Pro competes directly with the Tata Nexon EV available in the market. Mahindra XUV400 Pro Vs Tata Nexon EV: Variants, Battery and Range
Mahindra XUV400 Pro is offered in two variants EC and EL variants. These have batteries of 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh capacity respectively. The EC variant of the XUV400 Pro gives a range of 375 km on a single charge while its EL variant claims to give a driving range of 456 km on a single full charge. Both the trims come with the same motor which generates 148 bhp of power and 310 Nm of torque. Talking about performance, the facelifted Mahindra XUV400 accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds.
Tata Nexon.ev is also available in two derivatives – medium-range (MR) and long-range (LR). The first variant has a battery of 30.2 kWh capacity while the second variant has a battery of 40.5 kWh capacity. The 40.5kWh battery pack generates a maximum power of 143 bhp and torque of 215 Nm, while the 30.2kWh battery pack is capable of generating 127 bhp power and 215 Nm peak torque.
Tata Nexon EV comes with a Gen2 permanent magnet synchronous motor. This motor is light and powerful. The medium range variant of Nexon EV claims to give a range of 325 km on a single charge while the long range variant is capable of giving a driving range of 465 km on a single full charge. Talking about performance, Nexon EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.9 seconds. It can be run at a maximum speed of 150 kmph. It is 0.6 seconds slower than Mahindra XUV400 Pro.
Mahindra XUV400 Pro Vs Tata Nexon EV: Price
The new Mahindra XUV400 Pro is available in three variants – EC Pro (34.5 kWh), EL Pro (34.5 kWh) and EL Pro (39.5 kWh). Priced at Rs. 15.49 lakh, Rs. 16.74 lakh and Rs. 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively, the Tata Nexon EV is available in 6 options – Creative Plus, Fearless, Fearless Plus, Fearless Plus S, Empowered and Empowered Plus. The Nexon EV is priced between Rs. 14.74 lakh and Rs. 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
