Church roof collapsed in Mexico
A major accident (Mexican Church Roof Collapses) occurred in Tamaulipas, Mexico on Sunday. Here, about five people died and many others were injured when the roof of a church collapsed. Search for living people trapped in the debris
Pictures of the damage caused after the roof of the Santa Cruz Church collapsed in the state of Tamaulipas, bordering Texas. Releasing the pictures, the civil defense body said its workers were searching for survivors in the debris. Mexico’s Reforma newspaper quoted Ciudad Madero city mayor Adrian Oseguera as saying that five people had died in the accident, including a child.
According to the information, about 100 people were present there when the roof of the church collapsed. A baptism program was going on in the church at the time of the accident. Bishop Jose Armando Alvarez of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tampico said the church’s roof collapsed while the service was taking place. People have been appealed to pray for the survivors of the accident.
Church building turned into ruins
Bishop Armando shared a recorded message on social media and said that relief and rescue operations are being carried out to rescue people trapped under the debris. Let us tell you that after the accident the church building has completely turned into ruins. It is feared that many people are still trapped under the debris.
