The Mexican music industry is in mourning for the violent death of rapper Juan Carlos Sauceda, better known as Lefty SM.The artist He was shot several times in an armed attack outside his residence, on the night of Saturday, September 2, in the La Cima neighborhood, Zapopán, state of Jalisco (Mexico).
The death was confirmed in a statement released on social networks by the Alzada record label, where the 31-year-old singer worked.
“It is with deep sadness that we report the death of our brother Lefty SM, Juan Carlos Sauceda. Our affection, love and prayers are with his wife, María Isabel, and his two daughters. We appreciate his understanding at this difficult time and all the messages of support and love that he has sent us.”says part of the message with which they announced the tragic loss.
What is known about the violent incident?
So far it is known that The attackers allegedly aboard a white vehicle without license plates evaded the security of the private subdivision where Lefty lived.and they headed to their residence.
Apparently they tried to take him away and when they resisted he was hit twice by bulletsin the abdomen and right leg. His wife was at the scene and tried to help him by taking him to a hospital, but he lost his life. The events would have occurred around 11 pm on Saturday, September 2.
The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office informed in a preliminary way and warning that the information could be modified that “The agent of the Public Ministry was notified of his death at approximately 1:15 p.m.”
He also announced on his X account – formerly called Twitter – that an investigation was opened into the case.
“As a result of the death of a well-known singer of the Rap musical genre, the State Prosecutor’s Office began with the integration of an investigation folder to clarify the facts and capture whoever is responsible.”reported the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office.
Some Mexican media have reported that it was a robbery at his residence, but so far it is not known exactly what happened, nor if any suspects have already been arrested for the rapper’s death.
