Mehmet Aydın, the defendant in the “Çiftlik Bank” case, who was detained at Istanbul Airport on July 3 by the order of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and brought to the Anatolian Palace of Justice for investigation proceedings, was brought to the Criminal Court of First Instance as part of the arrest warrant issued against him.

Aydın, who was on trial at the Anatolian 57th Criminal Court of First Instance for “Opposition to the Banking Law”, said that he wanted time to defend himself after the indictment was read.

The court decided to give Aydın the time he requested to make his defense.

The court adjourned the hearing, which ruled that the arrest warrant issued for Aydın was also lifted.

Mehmet Aydın was arrested by the judge on duty as part of the investigation carried out by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on charges of “establishing an organization to commit a crime”, “fraud by using information systems as a tool of banks or credit institutions,” “fraud of merchants or company managers and cooperative managers”.

Aydın, nicknamed “Tosuncuk”, for whom the prosecutor’s office gave a 4-day detention period, was brought to the Istanbul Security Directorate campus on Vatan Street after his operations at the airport.
