The sports director of FC Barcelona Mateu Alemany confirmed that the negotiations between the Spanish club and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the signing of the French Ousmané Dembelé they are a fact.
After Barça’s victory against Tottenham with a score of 4-2 in the Joan Gamper Trophy, Alemany made statements revealing that Dembélé will not play for Barça again. “The situation with Dembélé is very clear. He asked to leave and it is something that was established in the renewal contract he signed,” Alemany said in statements collected by the newspapers Sport and Mundo Deportivo.
“We are in a process of resolving the transfer. Dembélé is no longer in the first team dynamics, if he had not been at Gamper. Dembélé is in Paris. When the agreement is signed, we will communicate the figures of the operation and with this we close another folder”, Alemany stated.
Regarding the possible return of the Brazilian Neymar Jr. as one of the missing reinforcements, Alemany assured that “It’s more of a journalistic issue”.
“We have the circumstances that we have and we are focused on the starts and achieving registrations. I am optimistic that we will be able to register all the footballers before Sunday (…) “We will see what happens between now and the end of the market, because you never know,” Alemany finally explained.
