Massive fire in Maha Kumbh Mela: More than 200 tents burnt to ashes, relief and rescue operations underway
A terrible accident took place in the Mahakumbh Mela of Prayagraj on Sunday afternoon. A sudden fire broke out in the tents under Shastri Bridge in Sector 19, which took a huge form within a few moments. The fire, which started due to cylinder explosion, created chaos in the fair area. The fire was so severe that the flames were rising up to 30 feet high and about 200 tents nearby were burnt to ashes.
How did the fire start?
It is believed that the fire spread from the spark of fire burning wood, which reached the tents. After this, there were explosions in the cylinders, due to which the fire took a huge form. Strong winds helped the fire spread further. The incident took place near Geetapress camp in Sector 19, where people were present in large numbers.
Quick action of fire brigade, but the scope of fire is increasing
Immediately after the fire, 15-16 fire tenders reached the spot. However, the fire was spreading so fast that other teams had to be called to bring it under control. The fire was brought under control after about an hour of hard work. During this time the fire engulfed an area of more than 100 square meters.

Immediately after the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached the spot and took stock of the situation. He instructed the officials to help the affected people and asked them to give priority to relief and rescue operations.
