Mass vaccination centers against COVID-19 open in Russia

In order to accelerate the process of immunization of the Russian population, mass vaccination centers against a new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) are being opened in various parts of the country.

The first case of coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation was recorded on January 31, 2020, and the first death was recorded on March 19, 2020.

By the beginning of this month, the daily increase in the incidence in the capital and the regions again set anti-records.

Against the background of the aggravation of the epidemiological situation, the authorities decided on the mandatory vaccination of workers in the public sector and the service sector.

As part of the vaccination campaign, which has been going on in Russia since January, it is planned to vaccinate about 60% of the adult population in general. However, it is clear that the vaccination process is progressing slowly. The number of vaccinated Russians at the moment is about 23 million people.

In order to accelerate the immunization process in different parts of the Russian Federation, including in Moscow, mass vaccination centers began to open.

One of the largest vaccination centers in Russia operates at the Luzhniki stadium, where about 15 thousand people can be vaccinated per day.

The services of the centers on a paid basis can also be used by foreign citizens, whose number in Moscow is about 2 million people.

The film crew of the Anadolu agency watched the vaccination process for Moscow residents at the Luzhniki stadium and in Gostiny Dvor.

Before being vaccinated, citizens fill out a questionnaire and go to see a doctor.

After passing the necessary control, the vaccine is inoculated with a Russian-made vaccine – a two-dose “Sputnik V” or a one-component “Sputnik Light”.

Andrey Tyazhelnikov, chief physician of the consultative and diagnostic polyclinic No. 121 in Moscow, told reporters that about 6 thousand people can be vaccinated daily at the vaccination center in Gostiny Dvor.

According to him, the center is open on weekends. “There are 50 doctors working here. This means that up to 50 people can be vaccinated at the same time, ”said the head physician.
