Maruti Suzuki Car Sales in April 2024:Maruti Suzuki released the figures of vehicles sold during April 2024 on Wednesday. In the last month, the total sales of the country’s largest car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki have increased by 4.7 percent on an annual basis to 1,68,089 units. Whereas in the same month last year, the company had sold a total of 1,60,529 units. According to monthly sales figures, the company’s total passenger vehicles sales in the Indian market stood at 1,37,952 units, whereas in the same month a year ago, the company sold 1,37,320 vehicles.
How many cars were sold in which segment?
During the first month of the current financial year, sales of mini segment cars including Alto and S-Presso declined to 11,519 units as compared to 14,110 units in April 2023. Sales of compact cars including Baleno, Celerio, Dezire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR also declined to 56,953 units last month, from 74,935 units in the same month a year ago. Utility vehicles including Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross and XL6 sold 56,553 units last month, while Maruti Suzuki’s utility vehicle sales figure was 36,754 units in the same period last year. Van sales in April stood at 12,060 units, which was 10,504 units in the same month a year ago. At the same time, sales of light commercial vehicle Super Carry increased to 2,496 units whereas in April 2023 this figure was 2,199 units.
Sales decreased in April compared to March 2024
Maruti Suzuki said that 22,160 vehicles were sent to foreign markets in April 2024 whereas in the same month last year the company had sent 16,971 vehicles. However, the sales of Maruti Suzuki have declined in April compared to March this year. In March 2024, the company had sold a total of 1,87,196 vehicles. During this period, 1,61,304 Maruti Suzuki vehicles were sold in India alone. Passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market were 1,52,718 units in March.
New Maruti Swift will come in the market soon
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki has started booking for its fourth generation Swift from today. According to media reports, the upcoming car will be launched in the Indian market in the second week of this month. Fourth generation Maruti Swift It has already been introduced in foreign markets like Japan and Britain. The company will soon unveil this new car in India.
