Maruti Suzuki Sales: Maruti Suzuki sales declined in May, more than 1.46 lakh vehicles sold within the country

Maruti Suzuki sales in May 2024:Maruti Suzuki India released monthly sales figures on Saturday. In May 2024, total sales of car maker Maruti Suzuki declined by 2 per cent year-on-year. During this period, the company sold 1,74,551 vehicles. In the same month last year, 1,78,083 vehicles were sold. Last month, total sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market increased marginally to 1,44,002 units, from 1,43,708 units during May 2023.

If we look at the sales figures on the basis of segment, the sales of mini segment vehicles including Alto and S-Preso declined to 9,902 units as against 12,236 units in May last year. The sales of compact cars like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, WagonR also declined to 68,206 units as against 71,419 units in the same month last year. The sales of utility vehicles like Brezza, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6 stood at 54,204 units as against 46,243 units in the same month last year.

Van sales declined to 10,960 units in May 2024 as against 12,818 vans sold in the same month last year. Sales of light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 2,692 units as against 2,888 units in May 2023. Maruti Suzuki said that the company’s exports to foreign markets declined to 17,367 units last month as against 26,477 units in May 2023.
