Maruti Suzuki Sales in August 2024: Maruti Suzuki India’s sales fell by 4 percent on an annual basis. In August, the company sold a total of 1,81,782 vehicles. Last year, in the same month, the company sold 1,89,082 vehicles. In August this year, Maruti Suzuki sold 145,570 vehicles within the country. A year ago, in the same month, the company sold 158,678 vehicles. Maruti Suzuki’s domestic sales have fallen by more than 8 percent on an annual basis.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement on Sunday that total passenger vehicle sales in the Indian market during August fell by 8 percent to 1,43,075 units, while in the same month last year the company sold 1,56,114 vehicles. In August, the company sent 26,003 vehicles to the foreign market. During this period, 10,209 vehicles were sold to other original equipment manufacturers.

If we look at the sales figures on the basis of segment, the sales of small cars like Alto and S-Preso declined to 10,648 units in August, as against 12,209 units in the same month a year ago. The sales of compact cars like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis and Swift declined by 20 percent to 58,051 units in August, as against 72,451 units in the same month a year ago. During this period, 707 mid-size cars of the company Ciaz were sold. Last year, in the same month, the company had sold 849 Ciaz.

Sales of utility vehicles like Grand Vitara, Brezza, Ertiga, Invicto, Frontx and XL6 stood at 62,684 units in August, as against 58,746 units in the same month a year ago. Last month, Maruti sold 10,985 Eco vans, while in August 2023, 11,859 of these vans were sold. Sales of light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 2,495 units in August as against 2,564 units in the same month last year. In the information given to the NSE exchange, the company said that during August 26,003 vehicles were exported to the foreign market, while in the same month last year the company had exported 24,614 vehicles.
