There has been a loss of Rs 1,40,478.38 crore in the market capitalization of 6 out of the top 10 Sensex companies last week. During this period, IT companies Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys suffered the most losses. Last week, BSE Sensex had fallen by 1,156.57 points or 1.55 percent. Stock markets were closed on Wednesday on the occasion of Ram Navami.
Last week, the market cap of Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) increased. On the other hand, the market cap of TCS, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, ITC and Hindustan Unilever declined.

The market cap of TCS declined by Rs 62,538.64 crore to Rs 13,84,804.91 crore. Infosys faced a decline of Rs 30,488.12 crore in its market cap during this period. The market cap of the company stood at Rs 5,85,936.45 crore. The market cap of ICICI Bank declined by Rs 26,423.74 crore to Rs 7,49,023.89 crore and the market cap of State Bank of India declined by Rs 14,234.76 crore to Rs 6,70,059.86 crore. The market capitalization of ITC declined by Rs 6,616.9 crore to Rs 5,30,350.97 crore and that of Hindustan Unilever declined by Rs 176.22 crore to Rs 5,24,487.51 crore.

In contrast, the market capitalization of Bharti Airtel increased by Rs 37,797.09 crore to Rs 7,30,658.36 crore and the market cap of HDFC Bank increased by Rs 9,420.17 crore to Rs 11,63,314.93 crore. The market capitalization of Reliance Industries increased by Rs 4,397.82 crore to Rs 19,90,195.52 crore and the market capitalization of LIC increased by Rs 1,201.75 crore to Rs 6,15,453.90 crore.
Reliance Industries remained at the first position in the list of top 10 companies. After this, TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Infosys, LIC, ITC and Hindustan Unilever were ranked respectively.
