Market Capitalization: The market capitalization of nine of the top 10 Sensex companies collectively declined by Rs 4,74,906.18 crore last week. Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank suffered the biggest loss during this period. Apart from this, ICICI Bank, TCS, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Hindustan Unilever, ITC and LIC also faced losses. Whereas Infosys’ market increased by Rs 4,629.64 crore. The company benefited during this period.
Whose market cap decreased?
Last week, the market cap of Reliance Industries declined by Rs 1,88,479.36 crore to Rs 18,76,718.24 crore. During this period, the market cap of HDFC Bank declined by Rs 72,919.58 crore to Rs 12,64,267.35 crore. Bharti Airtel’s market capitalization declined by Rs 53,800.31 crore to Rs 9,34,104.32 crore. Whereas the market cap of ICICI Bank declined by Rs 47,461.13 crore to Rs 8,73,059.59 crore.
The market capitalization of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) declined by Rs 33,490.86 crore to Rs 6,14,125.65 crore and that of Hindustan Unilever declined by Rs 27,525.46 crore to Rs 6,69,363.31 crore. ITC’s market cap declined by Rs 24,139.66 crore to Rs 6,29,695.06 crore. The market capitalization of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) declined by Rs 21,690.43 crore to Rs 15,37,361.57 crore. The market cap of State Bank of India declined by Rs 5,399.39 crore to Rs 7,10,934.59 crore.

In contrast, the market value of Infosys increased by Rs 4,629.64 crore to Rs 7,96,527.08 crore. Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex fell by 3,883.4 points or 4.53 per cent due to rising tensions in West Asia and continuous withdrawal of foreign investors. At the same time, there was a loss of 1,164.35 points or 4.44 percent in the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange.
