Manipur Violence: Violence broke out once again, curfew imposed in Imphal, internet services also stopped.
Violence has once again erupted in Manipur. Recently, bodies of three women and three children were found in Manipur. After which violent protests have increased. Curfew imposed in Imphal on Sunday till further orders. This curfew was imposed in view of the violence that broke out after six people were found dead. Considering the situation, the government banned internet in many districts.
Let us tell you that yesterday i.e. on Saturday, 16th November, the houses of Chief Minister Biren Singh and 10 party MLAs were attacked. The protesters even burnt the houses of the MLAs. In view of the tense situation, the authorities imposed curfew in Imphal West and Imphal East. Less vehicular movement could be seen on the roads and security personnel were deployed. Security has been tightened outside CM Biren Singh’s residence and Raj Bhavan.
Meanwhile, Manipur Police has arrested 23 people for allegedly ‘vandalizing houses and arson’. The accused were arrested from Bishnupur district. Weapons and bullets were recovered from them. These people were arrested from Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur districts of the state. Apart from this, police officials recovered one .32 pistol, seven rounds of SBBL bullets and eight mobile phones from them, police said.
According to the information received, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold an important meeting on Monday to review the security situation in Manipur regarding the Manipur violence. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka and other top officials may attend this meeting.
