Famous Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni has retired following the path of spirituality. He gave up his family life by offering Pind Daan at the Sangam in Prayagraj Mahakumbh on Friday. After this he was given the title of Mahamandaleshwar in Kinnar Akhara. Mamta’s new name will now be Shri Yamini Mamta Nand Giri.
Mamta Kulkarni had said goodbye to the film world years ago and had adopted the life of a Sadhvi. Returning to India after 25 years, he described attending the Mahakumbh as the most sacred experience of his life. Mamta said, “The grandeur of Mahakumbh and the blessings of the saints have made my life complete. This was the order of Mahadev and Mahakali.”
On Friday, January 24, Mamata performed Pind Daan at Sangam in Prayagraj. After this, Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Tripathi of Kinnar Akhara performed his Pattabhishek. When Mamta reached the camp of Kinnar Akhara wearing saffron clothes, a huge crowd gathered.
Lakshmi Tripathi told that Mamta had been expressing her desire to join Sanatan Dharma for the last two years. Earlier she was a disciple of Juna Akhara, but later joined Kinnar Akhara and expressed her desire to become Mahamandaleshwar. For this he followed the necessary traditions.
Mamta Kulkarni started acting in 1991 with the Tamil film ‘Nanbargal’ and stepped into Bollywood with ‘Mera Dil Tere Liye’. Mamta, who worked in hit films like ‘Aashiq Awara’, ‘Karan Arjun’, ‘Krantiveer’, also received the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress in 1993. His last film ‘Kabhi Tum Kabhi Hum’ was released in 2002.
However, his career was also surrounded by many controversies. In 1993, a topless photoshoot and dispute with director Rajkumar Santoshi during the film ‘China Gate’ made headlines. Apart from this, his name was linked to underworld drug mafia Vicky Goswami, but he rejected these allegations.
Mamta had written in her autobiography ‘Autobiography of an Yogini’ that she had accepted God as her first and last love. Now after taking sannyasa, Mamta is living the life of a sadhvi completely. After taking initiation in Mahakumbh and becoming Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara, Mamta said, “I did not do anything. All this happened on the orders of Mahadev and my Guru.”
