At least 18 people were killed on Saturday in separate attacks in areas of Gao in the north and Bandiagara in central Mali.
Ten fighters of the sedentary movements of the Wabaria security post at the entrance to the town of Gao in northern Mali were killed on Saturday in an attack carried out by armed men, said Mohamed Attayoub Sidibé, responsible for the movement of self-defense Ganda-Izo and spokesperson for the Inclusiveness Movement.
“The security post of the sedentary movements of Wabaria was attacked by the Imakalkalane of Ebang Emalane in retaliation for the death of one of theirs who was allegedly killed by a young of the sedentary movements”, announced Mohamed Attayoub Sidibé spokesperson of the Inclusiveness Movement.
“Our fighters were sitting grouped together when the attackers came and automatically opened fire on them. 10 were killed, but it should be remembered that the victims are distributed among all the sedentary movements, ”explained the same source.
Mohamed Attayoub Sidibé also said that 3 attackers were killed in the response of elements from the Wabaria post.
