A major train accident has happened in Pakistan. Two trains collided near Ghotki in the Sindh province area here, due to which at least 30 people have died in this accident so far and 64 others are injured, say police and rescue officials.
How did the horrific accident happen?
According to the reports of Pakistani news channels, the accident happened due to the collision of Sir Syed Express and Millat Express. Both the trains fell victim to the accident between Raiti and Obaro railway stations. Relief teams reached the spot as soon as the accident was reported and people were rushed to a nearby hospital. The accident was so horrific that 32 people died in it. Some people are also said to be seriously injured.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said he was, “Shocked by the horrific train accident at Ghotki early this morning leaving 30 passengers dead. Have asked Railway Minister to reach site & ensure medical assistance to injured & support for families of the dead. Ordering comprehensive investigation into railway safety faultlines”
According to Pakistani news website Dawn, several bogies of Millat Express derailed and overturned after the collision. After this many people died due to suppression. After the accident, people are facing a lot of difficulty in evacuating people from the overturned bogies. At present the rescue operation is going on.
