Major attack by Naxalites in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, 7 soldiers martyred in IED blast
Bijapur: Naxalites launched a major attack on security forces in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday. Naxalites blew up the security forces’ vehicle by blasting an IED, in which seven soldiers were martyred. This incident happened in Pamed area of Bijapur.

According to the information, the security force team had gone out for routine patrolling. Meanwhile, Naxalites ambushed and carried out an IED blast. The explosion was so powerful that the vehicle of the security forces was badly damaged. Seven soldiers were martyred in this attack, while many others were injured. The injured were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital.
The attack took place near Ameli on Kutru-Bedre road in Bijapur district. The soldiers were returning after the encounter in Narayanpur on Sunday. The soldiers were tired after walking in the forest for four days. So they got into the pickup vehicle
There were about 20 soldiers in the vehicle at the time of the explosion. After receiving information about the incident, Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav has left for the incident site. A rescue operation has been started to rescue the injured soldiers from there.
Naxal ADG Vivekananda Sinha has confirmed the incident. He told that Naxalites carried out IED blast on Kutur road in Bijapur. A total of more than 9 soldiers were traveling in the vehicle which was targeted by the Naxalites. More information in this regard is awaited. It is being told that these soldiers were traveling in a pickup vehicle when the Naxalites blasted it with an IED.
