Mahila Samman Yojana Delhi: Delhi assembly elections are to be held next year. Before that, the Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi government cabinet approved the Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana for women above 18 years of age in Delhi. Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal gave this information in his recent statement. Elections for the 70-seat Delhi Assembly are likely to be held in January-February 2024. The dates for Delhi Assembly elections are yet to be announced by the Election Commission. This scheme was included in the budget for the current financial year 2024-25 and a budget of Rs 2,000 crore has been allocated for it.
The objective of this scheme is to improve the standard of living of underprivileged women and under this, financial assistance of Rs 1,000 is to be given every month to eligible women. This Thursday, December 12, I said in a press conference that I had promised to give Rs 1,000 every month to the women of Delhi and I am happy to inform that Chief Minister Atishi’s cabinet has approved this scheme today. Now women can register and take advantage of this scheme.

Mahila Samman Nidhi: These women can apply
- Must be a permanent resident of Delhi.
- The scheme is only for women. To avail the benefits of the scheme, women aged 18 years and above can apply for it.
- The total income of the family from all sources should not exceed Rs 3 lakh.
- Should not be a government benefit, government job, or tax payer and pensioner.
- At the time of application, eligible women will have to give a self-declared affidavit, in which it will be written that they are not taking any kind of benefit from the government.
Mahila Samman Nidhi Delhi: What documents will be required
- Delhi voter card
- PAN card
- Aadhar card
- bank account details
- Electricity bill, water bill, or ration card for address proof.
- Birth certificate, school leaving certificate, or passport for proof of age.
- income certificate
- Eligible women will have to give a self-declaration that the applicant fulfills all the eligibility criteria to avail the benefits of the scheme.

Delhi Mahila Samman Nidhi: How to apply
- Download the application form from the Delhi Government website.
- Submit the form and required documents to the nearest office.
- The government will examine the application for financial assistance.
- The information given by the officials will be verified.
- Once approved by the authorities, eligible beneficiaries will be given the benefits of the scheme, i.e. financial assistance of ₹ 1,000 every month.

Will have to wait for the first installment
Quoting senior Delhi government officials, The Indian Express has reported that it may take more than 3 months for the first installment of Rs 1,000 to arrive in the accounts of women who have applied for the Chief Minister Mahila Samman Scheme of the Delhi Government. According to the report, government officials cited reasons ranging from the creation of an online portal to the schedule of upcoming assembly elections for its implementation. The department has said that only after creating, testing and operating the portal, the scheme can be implemented and the Project Management Unit (PMU) can be established. He said the process is expected to take at least three months once the scheme is notified.Delhi Chief Minister Atishi says that there is no need to create a post for PMU but an agency should be appointed for this.
On Thursday, the Delhi Cabinet approved the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, which provides Rs 1000 every month to women above 18 years of age. The former Chief Minister of Delhi said in a statement last day that if the Aam Aadmi Party wins the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, then the monthly installment of the Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana will be increased to Rs 2,100.
