Lukashenko: West is silent on the problem of drug trafficking from Europe

The West accuses Belarus of smuggling, but keeps silent about the problem of drug trafficking from Europe. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this today, receiving a report from Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky, BelTA informs.

“Westerners always accuse us of smuggling, the wrong cigarettes got to them, then illegal migration, some other problems. But they say nothing about what we have from them, especially drugs, synthetic drugs that came and are coming from Europe. They keep silent about it, because it is unprofitable, “the agency quoted Lukashenka as saying.

According to the State Customs Committee of Belarus, as of August 27, 335 facts of illegal drug movement were revealed (for the same period of 2020 – 207 cases). More than 433 kg of drugs were seized from the illegal turnover, which is five times more than last year.
