The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has finally closed this Monday the renewal of the contract of the men’s team coach, Luis de la Fuente, which extends his commitment until after the 2028 Euro Cup. The extension agreement, which was presented This Monday at the meeting of the RFEF board of directors in Las Rozas, it comes a month and a half after Rafael Louzán acceded to his presidency after a brief campaign in which he had promised to tie up De la Fuente.
The 63-year-old coach took office on December 12, 2022 after the World Cup in Qatar, when the RFEF decided not to continue with Luis Enrique on the bench. Since then, the Spanish team has won the Nations League in 2023 and the European Championship in Germany in 2024.
Ahead, they have the quarterfinals of the Nations that will be played in March against the Netherlands and the World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the USA that will be held in the summer of 2026.
