Voting is to be held for 96 seats in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission has completed preparations for this. In the fourth phase, voting will be held on 96 parliamentary seats in 10 states and union territories. Also, voting will be held for all 175 seats of the state assembly in Andhra Pradesh and 28 assembly seats in Odisha. To increase voter participation, the Election Commission had extended the voting time till 6 pm in some assembly constituencies of 17 Lok Sabha seats of Telangana. Voting for all 96 seats will start at 7 am tomorrow. After tomorrow, voting will be completed on 379 seats. In the fourth phase, 1717 candidates are in the fray for 96 seats. In the fourth phase, more than 17.7 crore voters will cast their votes at 1.92 lakh polling stations. Of which there are 8.97 crore male and 8.73 crore female voters. For Phase 4, more than 12.49 lakh voters above 85 years of age and 19.99 lakh disabled voters are registered, who have been given the option to vote from the comfort of their homes. To enable every voter, including the elderly and disabled persons, to cast their vote easily, minimum facilities like water, shed, toilet, ramp, volunteers, wheelchair and electricity will be available. The optional home voting facility is already receiving tremendous appreciation and response.

Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni is contesting from Kheri seat of Uttar Pradesh for the third time. Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is contesting from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat of the state after 12 years. Former Union Minister and current MP Sakshi Maharaj is contesting from Unnao Lok Sabha seat for the third time.
Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai is contesting from Ujiarpur seat of Bihar for the third time on BJP ticket. Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh has once again been fielded from the Begusarai seat of the state.
Union Minister Arjun Munda is contesting from Khunti seat of Jharkhand. The reputation of former Chief Minister Madhu Koda is at stake in Singhbhum Lok Sabha seat of Jharkhand. Actually, BJP has made his wife Geeta Koda its candidate.
Pankaja Munde is contesting from Beed seat in Maharashtra on BJP ticket.
Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary is contesting from Baharampur seat of West Bengal. Trinamool Congress (TMC) has placed its bet on cricketer Yusuf Pathan on this seat. Mahua Moitra is contesting from Krishnanagar seat of the state on TMC ticket. Cricketer Kirti Azad is contesting from Bardhaman seat on TMC ticket. Shatrughan Sinha, the sitting MP from Asansol seat, is contesting for the second time on TMC ticket.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy is contesting from Secunderabad seat of Telangana for the second time. BJP has fielded Madhavi Lata against All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi from Hyderabad seat of the state. Former BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar is contesting from Karimnagar seat.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is no significant concern regarding hot weather conditions for the fourth phase of voting. The weather forecast indicates that the mercury is expected to be ±2 degrees below normal in the parliamentary constituencies where voting is taking place and there will be no heat wave-like conditions in these areas on the day of voting. However, for the convenience of voters, arrangements for champati including facilities like water, umbrellas and fans have been made at all polling stations.
