Trump fires chef José Andrés as advisor for not being “aligned” with his vision
The new president of the United States, Donald Trump, dismissed the Spanish chef José Andrés, founder of the NGO World Central Kitchen, from his position as presidential advisor on sports, exercise and nutrition.
“Our first day in the White House is not over,” Trump said on X (formerly Twitter) when announcing the dismissal of the famous chef, who also has American nationality, as part of a review being carried out by his team of a thousand appointments made by the previous president, Joe Biden.
Trump, who assumed the Presidency this Monday, also announced that he has fired retired US Army General Mark Milley, who has been very critical of him, as has José Andrés. The firings of the previous administration’s appointees are because “they are not aligned with our vision of Making America Great Again,” Trump said.
“José Andrés of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, Mark Milley of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, Brian Hook of the Wilson Center for Scholars and [la exalcaldesa de Atlanta] Keisha Lance Bottoms of the President’s Export Council: YOU ARE FIRE!” Trump wrote in X using the phrase he made famous on his television show The Apprentice.
Until now there has been no known reaction from José Andrés to this announcement by Trump, who in the last few hours has sent numerous messages via email and on the networks to report on all the decisions made on his first day as president for the second time, since He was also in the US Presidency between 2017 and 2021.
