How to submit Annual Life Certificate, Jeevan Pramaan: To ensure that retired employees from central government jobs continue to receive their pension amount, they have to submit a life certificate every year in the month of November. Like last year, this time too all pensioners will have to do this next month. However, for the convenience of pensioners aged 80 years and above, the government opens a special window for submitting life certificate from October 1st itself. If you or someone in your household has pensioners aged 80 years and above, then you can submit life certificate from the month of October. Apart from these, other pensioners will be able to submit their life certificate from next month i.e. from 1st November.
What is Jeevan Praman i.e. Digital Life Certificate?
Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric detail enabled Aadhaar card number based Digital Life Certificate (DLC) for pensioners. Life Certificate i.e. DLC can be generated for every pensioner with the help of his Aadhaar number and biometrics details. This is a valid life certificate and is recognized under the IT Act. For pensioners to continue receiving pension, it is necessary to submit life certificate once a year. This certificate helps pensioners to prove to the institution issuing their pension that they are alive.

What is the deadline for submitting life certificate?
For pensioners aged 80 years and above, the life certificate can be submitted from October 1, 2024. The life certificate submitted this year will remain valid till 30 November 2025 next year. Usually the deadline for submitting Jeevan Pramaan is 30th November, unless the government extends it.
What will happen if you are not able to submit the life certificate by 30th November?
If the life certificate is not submitted by November, the pensioner will not get the pension for December and beyond.
What will happen next if you are not able to submit the life certificate on time?
When the life certificate is updated in the pension system, the entire pending pension amount will also come with the next pension payment. But if the life certificate is not submitted for three years or more, then the pension can be paid again only after approval through CPAO by the officer concerned under the pension process.

You can submit life certificate sitting at home, this is the complete process
At present it is easy to submit life certificate. Through face authentication technology, anyone can submit the life certificate of themselves or their close ones sitting at home. For this it is necessary to have Android smartphone and internet connectivity. The thing to note is that the smartphone should also have support for 5MP front camera. Here are the methods of submitting digital life certificate through face authentication technology.
For Digital Life Certificate, use an Android smartphone with 5MP front camera and internet connectivity.
Keep the Aadhaar number registered with the pension issuing institution like bank or post office ready.
Now download and install ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ and ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ from Google Play Store on the phone. Keep in mind that AadhaarFaceRD app is necessary for the background support of Jeevan Praman Face app. Even after being installed in the phone, the icon of AadhaarFaceRD app is not visible like other apps.
Open Jeevan Pramaan Face App. To become an operator here, Aadhaar number and live photo will be required. The operator can be the pensioner whose life certificate is to be submitted or anyone else.
Now complete the process of becoming an operator by filling the required information.
After this, fill all the information asked to generate the life certificate of the pensioner.
Submit after capturing the photo of the pensioner from the front camera.
An SMS containing the link to download the life certificate will be sent to the pensioner’s mobile number and email ID.
By following all the above steps, anyone can easily submit life certificate through face authentication technology. Note that to obtain Life Certificate (Digital Life Certificate) it is mandatory to have Aadhaar number or VID.
