what is the purpose
The objective of LIC’s Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme is to provide financial assistance to economically weaker meritorious children, so that they can get better opportunities for higher education and employment. This Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme of LIC is for boys and girls studying in any government or private college-university in India. This scheme will also cover technical and vocational courses. That means, students studying in Industrial Training Institute (ITI) under National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) are also eligible for this scholarship scheme of LIC. Apart from this, students taking admission in integrated course after 12th can also avail the benefits of the scheme.
There are two types of scholarship schemes
There are two types of schemes in LIC’s Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme – General and Special. The first is General Scholarship Scheme, which is for all boys and girls. Second special scholarship scheme, which is only for girls.
Who can apply
Students who fulfill the conditions mentioned below are eligible to apply for LIC’s Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme.
General Scholarship
After 12th class (XII)
Those candidates who have passed 12th or equivalent (Diploma or ITI) with 60 percent or more marks between the academic session 2022 to 2024 are eligible for the Post 12th (XII) General Scholarship Scheme. And in the current academic session 2024-25, students enrolled in the first year for graduation from medical, engineering courses like MBBS, BDS, BTECH or any subject can apply. Apart from this, students taking admission in first year integrated course of any college or diploma program from government ITI college can also register to get LIC’s Golden Jubilee Scholarship. Along with the above conditions, also keep in mind that the annual income of your parent or guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.
After 10th class (X)
Even after passing 10th, you can apply for General School Scheme. However, to get the scholarship scheme of LIC, those children are eligible who have passed the 10th examination with 60 percent or more marks between the academic session 2022 to 2024 and are studying in government colleges or institutes or ITI colleges in the current academic session 2024-25. Have taken admission in Vocational/Diploma course for first year studies. Along with the above conditions, also keep in mind that the annual income of your parent or guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.
2 year special scholarship scheme for girls
LIC’s special scholarship scheme is for girls. Between the year 2022 to 2024, girls who have passed 10th or equivalent examination with 60 percent or more marks and for further studies can enroll in a two-year program like 12th in any government institute or ITI college in the current academic session 2024-25. Or have appeared in the first year of a vocational or diploma course. Along with the above conditions, also keep in mind that the annual income of your parents or guardian from all sources Should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.
Keep in mind that in some cases applicants are also getting concession in the upper limit of annual earnings. However, this is only for those boys and girls who come from a family where the responsibility of running the family is on the woman (widow/single mother/unmarried). That is, if she is the only earning woman in the family, then in such a situation the annual income is Rs 4 lakh instead of Rs 2.50 lakh.

How much scholarship will be given every year
General Scholarship
Students selected for General Scholarship will receive an amount of Rs 40,000 annually to pursue higher education in the medical field (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS). This amount will come into the students’ account in installments of Rs 20,000 each twice a year during the course.
Similarly, students studying engineering (BE, BTECH, BArch) if selected for this general scholarship, will get Rs 30,000 every year during the entire course. This amount will be given in installments of Rs 15,000 each twice a year during the course.
Students doing Bachelor in any subject or taking admission in 5-year integrated course, if selected for this general scholarship, will get Rs 20,000 every year during the entire course. This amount will be given in installments of Rs 10,000 each twice a year during the course.
Special scholarship for girl child
Selected girl children pursuing further studies after 10th class will get financial assistance of Rs 15,000 annually if they are selected for the special scholarship. This amount will be given to them if they study for two years while studying in 12th, vocational or diploma course. This amount will also be available in installments of Rs 7,500-7500 twice a year.
