Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed to the absence of official interstate diplomatic relations with Georgia, TASS reports.
“We have practically no relationship. They, in fact, were torn apart at the initiative of Tbilisi. We have repeatedly expressed our readiness to restore them, ”he said, speaking on Wednesday to the students and faculty of MGIMO.
The Russian Foreign Minister said that, despite the almost complete absence of diplomatic relations with Georgia, Moscow and Tbilisi have mutual spheres of interest, and he himself loves this country very much.
“We have, of course, trade. By the way, not small, we are one of the leading trade partners of Georgia. There is a flow of tourists, our people love to visit Georgia, I myself really love this country, ”the minister said.
