The United Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Sunday warned the Center and the Uttar Pradesh government. It has demanded the removal and arrest of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra by October 11 in the Lakhimpur violence case. Otherwise, the front will start a phased demonstration.
Earlier, the SKM had said that the government has time till October 11 to take action against Mishra. If this does not happen, the front will start a phased demonstration against the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
SKM, a union of 40 farmers’ organizations agitating against the three controversial agriculture laws of the Centre, said, “Ajay Mishra is a minister in the central government. So, clearly justice is being compromised.
“The SKM warns the Center and the Uttar Pradesh government that the October 11 deadline given by it is about to expire,” it said. The arrest and dismissal of Ajay Mishra is awaited along with the arrest of all the culprits in the Lakhimpur case.
Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son was arrested late Saturday night in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. He has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. He has been kept in the segregation barrack of the district jail of Lakhimpur Kheri. Officials gave this information on Sunday.
