Lakhimpur Kheri: Union Home Minister’s son arrested

Lucknow: Ashish Mishra, son of Union Home Minister Ajay Mishra, has been arrested in connection with the murder of a farmer in Lakhimpur Kheri. He was arrested after 12 hours of questioning. Police said the accused was not cooperating with the interrogation.

Ashish Mishra has admitted that the vehicle that killed the farmers was his. But Ashish claims that he was not in the vehicle. He has been charged with murder.

Ashish appeared before police for questioning on Saturday. The interrogation took place at the Crime Branch office in Lakhimpur. Ashish has been charged with eight counts, including murder. The apex court had criticized the UP police for treating Ashish as an accused in any murder case.

Ashish appeared before the police after the dramatic incident. Ashish was escorted into the office through the back door of the office with heavy police warmth. Ashish claims to have been the organizer of a wrestling match at the time of the murder. Ashish claims to have a video proving that he was at the wrestling venue.

Priyanka Gandhi has made it clear that she will not back down from the strike unless Ashish’s father Ajay Mishra resigns. With the arrest of Ashish, pressure is mounting for Ajay Mishra to resign. Farmers’ organizations will march in Lakhimpur Kheri on the 12th demanding the resignation of Ajay Mishra.
