Kuwait followed the example of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain by recalling the ambassador from Lebanon.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry’s statement, quoted by the KUNA agency, says that the head of the diplomatic mission in Beirut, Abil al-Suleiman al-Kannayi, has been ordered to return from Lebanon for consultations. At the same time, the Charge d’Affaires of Lebanon in the emirate was asked to leave the monarchy within 48 hours.
The crisis in relations between the Arab countries of the region and Lebanon was caused by the statement of the Minister of Information of the Middle East country, George Kardakhi, who criticized the actions of Riyadh in Yemen.
On the air of one of the local channels, on October 27, the Lebanese minister noted that the units of the Ansarullah (Houthis) movement, as well as the Lebanese Hezbollah, are defending their land.
“The Houthis are defending their land. In my opinion, the war in Yemen must end. Military aviation [возглавляемой саудитами Арабской коалиции] bombs houses, villages and cities, ”said the Lebanese minister.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nejip Mikati tried to disguise the statement of the Minister of Information, saying that Kardahi’s position does not reflect the official point of view of Beirut
However, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain still recalled their ambassadors from Beirut.
