Kovid for 7545 deaths in the state today; 55 deaths

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid has been confirmed for 7545 people in the state today. This result was obtained when 71,841 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Ernakulam district has the highest number of patients. There are 1163 patients in the district. The total number of Covid deaths in the state has risen to 32,734, according to a press release issued by the Health Department.

District wise figures

The worst affected districts are Ernakulam 1163, Thiruvananthapuram 944, Thrissur 875, Kozhikode 799, Kollam 674, Kottayam 616, Idukki 461, Kannur 411, Malappuram 370, Wayanad 298, Palakkad 292, Pathanamthitta 289, Alappuzha 241 and Kasaragod 112.


71,841 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) covers 115 wards in 77 local bodies above 10. There will be strict control here.

Those who can be monitored

There are currently 2,56,811 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,51,744 are under home / institutional quarantine and 5,067 are under observation in hospitals. 473 people were newly admitted to the hospital.

At present, out of 74,552 Covid cases, only 7.2 per cent are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals.

Covid death

It has been confirmed today that 55 deaths in the last few days were due to Covid-19. In addition, the Supreme Court has reported 60 deaths on appeal under the new guidelines of the Central Government and 21 deaths up to June 18 last year which were not confirmed due to lack of adequate documentation. This brings the total death toll in the state to 32,734.


5936 people who were diagnosed and treated were cured. Thiruvananthapuram 928, Kollam 617, Pathanamthitta 351, Alappuzha 268, Kottayam 438, Idukki 92, Ernakulam 840, Thrissur 110, Palakkad 399, Malappuram 452, Kozhikode 534, Wayanad 310, Kannur 427 and Kasaragod 170 were cured. With this, 74,552 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 48,87,350 people have so far been freed from Covid.
