The worst affected districts are Thrissur 974, Thiruvananthapuram 808, Kottayam 762, Kozhikode 722, Ernakulam 709, Kollam 707, Palakkad 441, Kannur 427, Pathanamthitta 392, Malappuram 336, Alappuzha 318, Idukki 274, Wayanad 166 and Kasaragod 127.
79,122 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The weekly infection population ratio (WIPR) is 211 wards in 158 local bodies above 10. There will be strict control here.
6960 people who were diagnosed and treated were cured. Thiruvananthapuram 598, Kollam 1047, Pathanamthitta 283, Alappuzha 303, Kottayam 113, Idukki 92, Ernakulam 1298, Thrissur 963, Palakkad 250, Malappuram 362, Kozhikode 720, Wayanad 239, Kannur 525 and Kasaragod 167 were cured. With this, 74,456 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 48,24,745 have so far been freed from Covid.
Those who can be monitored
There are currently 2,69,762 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,61,197 are under home / institutional quarantine and 8,565 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 614 people were newly admitted to the hospital.
Currently, out of 74,456 Covid cases, only 10 per cent are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals.
Today, it has been confirmed that 90 deaths in the last few days are due to Covid-19. In addition, there have been 51 deaths reported on appeal under the Supreme Court’s new guidelines and 341 deaths up to June 18 last year which were not confirmed due to lack of adequate documentation. This brings the total death toll in the state to 29,355.
Today, 29 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 6791 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 276 is not clear. The disease affected 67 health workers.
