Kovid confirmed 12,297 more in the state; 74 deaths

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid-19 has been confirmed for 12,297 people in Kerala today. Covid-19 has been confirmed as the cause of 74 deaths in the last few days. The health department said in a press release.

Covid-19 has been confirmed for 12,297 people in Kerala today. The worst affected districts are Ernakulam 1904, Thrissur 1552, Thiruvananthapuram 1420, Kozhikode 1112, Kottayam 894, Malappuram 894, Kollam 746, Palakkad 720, Alappuzha 700, Idukki 639, Kannur 606, Pathanamthitta 554, Wayanad 366 and Kasaragod 190.

11,742 through contact


During the last 24 hours, 88,914 samples were tested. The Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) covers 745 wards in 368 local bodies above 10. There will be strict control here. Today, 61 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 11,742 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 444 is not clear. About 50 health workers were affected.

Those who have recovered

A total of 16,333 people who had been diagnosed and treated were cured. Thiruvananthapuram 1354, Kollam 1924, Pathanamthitta 995, Alappuzha 1033, Kottayam 1014, Idukki 688, Ernakulam 1728, Thrissur 1738, Palakkad 1108, Malappuram 1268, Kozhikode 1754, Wayanad 674, Kannur 840 and Kasaragod 215 were cured. With this, 1,37,043 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 45,57,199 have so far been freed from Covid.

Those who can be monitored

There are currently 4,29,581 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 4,12,902 are under home / institutional quarantine and 16,679 in hospitals. A total of 1101 people were newly admitted to the hospital. Currently, out of 1,37,043 Covid cases, only 11 per cent are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals.


It has been confirmed today that 74 deaths in the last few days were due to Covid-19. This brings the total death toll to 25,377. 92.66 per cent of the population to be vaccinated were given one dose of vaccine (2,47,49,332) and 41.6 per cent were given two dose of vaccine (1,11,25,192).
