Kovid confirmed 11,699 more in the state; 58 deaths

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid-19 has been confirmed for 11,699 people in Kerala today. Covid-19 has been confirmed as the cause of 58 deaths in the last few days. The health department said in a news release.

Those who have confirmed the disease

The worst affected districts are Thrissur 1667, Ernakulam 1529, Thiruvananthapuram 1133, Kozhikode 997, Malappuram 942, Kollam 891, Kottayam 870, Palakkad 792, Alappuzha 766, Kannur 755, Pathanamthitta 488, Idukki 439, Wayanad 286 and Kasaragod 144.

Test positivity rate

During the last 24 hours, 80,372 samples were tested. There are 841 wards in 422 local bodies with a weekly infection population ratio of over ten. There will be strict control here.

Those who have recovered

A total of 17,763 people who had been diagnosed and treated were cured. Thiruvananthapuram 2096, Kollam 126, Pathanamthitta 426, Alappuzha 1285, Kottayam 1646, Idukki 681, Ernakulam 606, Thrissur 4496, Palakkad 941, Malappuram 1947, Kozhikode 1790, Wayanad 801, Kannur 628 and Kasaragod 294 were cured. With this, 1,57,158 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 44,59,193 people have so far been freed from Covid.

Those who can be monitored

There are currently 4,78,087 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 4,56,821 are under home / institutional quarantine and 21,266 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 1318 people were newly admitted to the hospital.

Currently, out of 1,57,158 Covid cases, only 12.3 per cent are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals.


Covid-19 has been confirmed as the cause of 58 deaths in the last few days. This brings the total death toll to 24,661.

Today, 32 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 11,134 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 492 is not clear. The disease affected 41 health workers.
