Kovid 19 was confirmed for 11,776 people in the state today; 20 deaths today

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid has confirmed 11,776 more people in the state today. During the last 24 hours, 71,411 inspections were conducted and so many cases were confirmed. Fresh within 24 hours – Covid deaths were also recorded. The latest figures come amid a sharp drop in the number of new Covid 19 cases in the state.

According to the Department of Health, the spread of Covid 19 in the state is declining. The government had given more concessions as the number of cases and the number of patients in hospitals were declining. The decision was made to give more concessions in stages.

There are currently 2,52,101 people under surveillance in the state, the health minister said in a Facebook post. Of these, only 5622 are in hospital. 950 people were newly admitted to the hospital. Of the 1,23,825 Covid 19 patients currently being treated in the state, only 4.6 per cent are in hospital.

Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam districts are still leading in district wise figures. Covid confirmed 2141 in Ernakulam and 1440 in Thiruvananthapuram today. The number of Covid patients in other districts is 1231 in Kottayam, 1015 in Kollam, 998 in Kozhikode, 926 in Thrissur, 754 in Alappuzha and 654 in Pathanamthitta. The disease was confirmed in 584 people in Idukki, 557 people in Malappuram and 552 people in Palakkad. The number of new patients is 514 in Kannur, 301 in Wayanad and 109 in Kasaragod.

It was confirmed that 20 deaths in 24 hours were due to Covid. All 154 previous deaths were confirmed to be Covid deaths based on documents received late. The list also includes 130 Covid deaths who have appealed against the Supreme Court ruling. This brings the total number of Covid deaths in the state to 62681.

Today, only 29 people from outside the state have been diagnosed with the disease. The list also includes 92 health workers. The health minister also said that 32,027 people who had been treated for Covid had recovered. Thiruvananthapuram district is leading in these figures too.

During the week from February 8 to 14, only 0.9 per cent of those receiving treatment needed oxygen beds and only 0.5 per cent needed ICU treatment, the health minister said.
