The head of the Turkish parliamentary commission on foreign affairs, Akif aatay Kilic, held a meeting with colleagues from Georgia and Azerbaijan within the framework of the trilateral meeting of the commissions on foreign relations.
Kilich met in the building of the Turkish parliament with the chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Interparliamentary Relations Committee of the Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis Samed Seyidov and the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament Nikoloz Samkharadze.
According to Kilic, this year the 6th trilateral meeting of the commissions for external relations of the parliaments of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia took place.
“Today we had a meeting at the level of the heads of parliamentary commissions, and tomorrow negotiations will continue between the delegations,” Kilich said.
At the same time, the head of the Turkish parliamentary commission stressed the importance of the trilateral union for the region.
“We are holding our first face-to-face meeting since the pandemic. Therefore, I would like to thank our esteemed chairmen of the committees for accepting the invitation and for making this visit, ”said Kilich.
In turn, Seyidov recalled the recent bilateral meeting between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
“It is a great honor that Georgia is with its friends and brothers today. Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia should be together in the region, ”said the head of the MM parliamentary committee.
At the same time, the parliamentarian recalled that the Day of Restoration of Independence is celebrated in Azerbaijan on October 18.
Later, the delegations of Azerbaijan and Georgia visited part of the territory of the Turkish parliament of Turkey, which suffered as a result of the coup attempt on July 15, 2016.
