Kazakhstan will tighten controls on border with Russia due to pandemic

The authorities of Kazakhstan have decided to strengthen epidemiological control at the state border in connection with the complication of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in neighboring countries, in particular in Russia. The corresponding statement was made by Prime Minister Askar Mamin at a meeting of the government of Kazakhstan.

According to him, the epidemiological situation in the country as a whole is under control.

The Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Aleksey Tsoi noted a decrease in the incidence of coronavirus over the past two weeks.

According to him, the capital Nur-Sultan, which has been in a dangerous risk zone since March, as well as the most populous city of Almaty, have left the “red zone” in terms of the spread of coronavirus infection. At the moment, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions remain in the “red zone”.

According to the Ministry of Health, 1,353 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Kazakhstan over the past 24 hours. The total number of cases of infection has reached 931,137. The number of vaccinated against exceeded 7 million.
