Kate Middleton arrived around 10 a.m. on Saturday (11:00 a.m. Spanish time) at Buckingham Palace to join the royal procession participating in the ceremony. Trooping the Color(Parading the Colours), the official anniversary of the British monarch and the central event each year of the House of Windsor. The cameras were already waiting for her. Her reappearance in public life, after almost three months of chemotherapy treatment to combat the cancer she suffers from, has become the center of attention of the parade.
At 10:30 a.m., a first royal carriage transported Charles III and the queen consort, Camilla, from the palace to the parade ground of the Royal Stables, at the end of the majestic avenue, The Mall, which connects Buckingham with Trafalgar Square. The monarch also suffers from cancer and continues with his treatment, but he decided to return to his public duties a few weeks ago, after doctors indicated that his obvious improvement allowed it.
In the second horse-drawn carriage, under a light rain, Catherine of Wales was seen again. She dressed in black and white, with a sobriety that contrasted with the emerald green of last year, when the disease had not yet appeared in the royal family. She was accompanied by her children Jorge, Carlota and Luis.
Behind, on horseback, the Prince of Wales and heir to the throne, William of England, along with the monarch’s two brothers.
