Football tournament Adolescent The 3rd Vietnamese Students – 2025 THACO Cup is a tournament assigned by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Vietnam Student Association to the Newspaper. Adolescent coordinates with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to organize it annually during the period from celebrating the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students – January 9 to celebrating the Establishment Day of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on March 26 and Vietnam Sports Day March 27. This tournament has officially been included in the annual national competition system of VFF and the VUG Vietnam Student Sports Tournament.
Giving a welcome speech at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor-Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet – Vice Rector of Water Resources University, expressed his joy that Water Resources University continues to accompany the tournament for the third consecutive season as a home team. He believes that the Vietnamese Student Youth Football Tournament will continue the successes from the previous two seasons and affirmed that the tournament will continue to be a healthy and useful playground for students of all ages.
Speaking at the opening of the northern region qualifying round, journalist Tran Viet Hung – Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper Adolescentthe tournament’s BTC commissioner emphasized: “Football tournament Adolescent Vietnamese students is a meaningful sports event, not only a place to exchange and learn, but also an opportunity for students to show off their talent, youth and sportsmanship.
After being held very successfully twice, the football tournament Adolescent Vietnamese students enter the third season in the eager anticipation of universities, colleges, and institutes across the country. The tournament has become a useful playground for young people to practice physically, improve solidarity and dedication to the community. Through this tournament, we also hope to create an environment for students to connect with each other, learn from experience and build good relationships.
Football is a king sport, bringing strong and profound emotions. Every match, no matter the result, is a valuable lesson in fighting spirit, teamwork and constant effort. This year’s tournament has 67 teams participating, of which 66 teams compete in qualifying rounds in 5 regions (only the home team, Ton Duc Thang University, goes directly to the final round). The northern qualifying round has 9 teams competing, including: home team Water Resources University, National Economics University, Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, East Asia University of Technology, University of VT-DL Thanh Hoa, Dai Nam University, Hanoi University of Industry, Viet Hung University of Industry; Hanoi University of Business and Technology.
Immediately after the opening ceremony was the opening match between Thuy Loi University and Dai Nam University. The opening match is also considered the early final of group 1 in the northern region because these two representatives both entered the play-off match to compete for tickets to continue to the finals in season 2. At that time, Thuy Loi University won. play-off and then became the runner-up of the tournament while Dai Nam University lost to the team of Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports and missed the ticket to the finals.
