Because today is the last day to submit life certificate. Pensioners who are not able to submit their life proof by November 30, 2024, may get stuck in the pension amount coming into their account every month. The last date for submission of Jeevan Pramaan for pensioners is 30th November and in order to continue receiving pension amount every month, pensioners have to submit Jeevan Pramaan in the month of November. In case of default in submitting life proof, pension may be stopped from next month. It is important to submit Jeevan Pramaan every year because this certificate proves that the pensioner is still alive and is enjoying the benefits of this pension.

Jeevan Pramaan Patra is a digital service based on biometric technology, which is for pensioners. This facility is available to retired employees of Central Government, State Government and pensioners of other government institutions, which gives them an opportunity to avail this service. To submit the life certificate, pensioners have the option of visiting bank branches, taking banking services at home or sitting at home online using the Jeevan Pramaan app. Pension is paid in the next pension cycle only after the life certificate reaches the Central Pension Processing Center (CPPC) and is processed. What is life proof?
Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric detail enabled Aadhaar card number based Digital Life Certificate (DLC) for pensioners. Life Certificate i.e. DLC can be generated for every pensioner with the help of his Aadhaar number and biometrics details. This is a valid life certificate and is recognized under the IT Act. For pensioners to continue receiving pension, it is necessary to submit life certificate once a year. This certificate helps pensioners to prove to the institution issuing their pension that they are alive.

At present it is easy to submit life certificate. Just for this, some preparations should be made in advance. For example, keep your Aadhaar number linked with pension issuing institutions like banks or post offices and install some important apps on your smartphone. Through face authentication technology, anyone can submit the life certificate of themselves or their close ones sitting at home. For this it is necessary to have Android smartphone and internet connectivity.
For Digital Life Certificate, use an Android smartphone with 5MP front camera and internet connectivity. Now download and install ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ and ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ from Google Play Store on the phone. Keep in mind that AadhaarFaceRD app is necessary for the background support of Jeevan Praman Face app. Even after being installed in the phone, the icon of AadhaarFaceRD app is not visible like other apps.
Here are the methods of submitting digital life certificate through face authentication technology.
- Open Jeevan Pramaan Face app. Let us tell you that now to become an operator, Aadhaar number and live photo will be required. The operator can be the pensioner whose life certificate is to be submitted or anyone else.
- Now complete the process of becoming an operator by filling the required information.
- After this, fill all the information asked to generate the life certificate of the pensioner.
- Submit after capturing the photo of the pensioner from the front camera.
- An SMS containing the link to download the life certificate will be sent to the pensioner’s mobile number and email ID.
- By following all the above steps, anyone can easily submit life certificate through face authentication technology. Note that to obtain Life Certificate (Digital Life Certificate) it is mandatory to have Aadhaar number or VID.
Generally the deadline for submitting Jeevan Pramaan is 30th November and the window for this opens on 1st November every year. Whereas for pensioners above 80 years of age, a special window for deposit of life certificate is opened from October 1, 2024. This time the life certificate submitted on time will remain valid till 30 November 2025.
Will the pension get stuck if I miss it?
If the life certificate is not submitted by November 30, then the pension for December this year and beyond may not be withheld.
What will happen next?
When the life certificate is updated in the pension system, the entire pending pension amount will also come with the next pension payment. But if the life certificate is not submitted for three years or more, then the pension can be paid again only after approval through CPAO by the officer concerned under the pension process.
