The deadlock between India and China in East Ladakh has been going on for several months.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has said that the top commanders of the Indian and Chinese military have held nine rounds of talks to withdraw troops in eastern Ladakh and such talks will continue to be conducted in future. Jaishankar said that so far no effect has been seen on the ground of the conversation.
The External Affairs Minister said in Vijayawada on Saturday, “The issue of withdrawal of troops is very complicated. It depends on the armies. You should know about your (geographical) location and events. Military commanders are working on it.
Jaishankar said, “Army commanders have held nine rounds of talks so far. We feel that some progress has been made but it cannot be seen as a solution. There is no visible impact of these negotiations on the ground.Â
Apart from this, Jaishankar said that he and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had talked to their counterparts last year and it was agreed that in some parts the troops should retreat.
Let me tell you that the deadlock between India and China in East Ladakh has been going on for several months. Talking about the current dispute between the two countries, there was a violent clash between the soldiers of China and India on the evening of 5 May. The clash continued for the next day, after which the two sides split. But the deadlock still persisted.
After this, on June 15, there was a violent clash between the armies of the two countries in the Galvan Valley for the first time in several decades. In this skirmish, 20 Indian soldiers were martyred. There were also reports of casualties in this clash of Chinese soldiers.
After the Galvan incident, India and China have been negotiated several times to get out of the deadlock, but no concrete result has been found.
