ITR filing charges across different websites: If your annual income (gross) is more than Rs 2.5 lakh, then you have to compulsorily file ITR. Under the Income Tax Act, senior citizens whose annual income is Rs 3 lakh or super senior citizens i.e. people above 80 years of age whose total income in a financial year is more than Rs 5 lakh, then they have to compulsorily file ITR. There is no need to file ITR if the income is less than this limit. Apart from this, there are other factors in which it is necessary to file ITR. The last date for filing income tax return in the assessment year (FY2024-25) for the previous financial year i.e. FY2023-24 is 31 July 2024.
