Jewish settlers attacked Palestinians with stones and sticks in the vicinity of the city of Al-Khalil in the occupied West Bank of Jordan during a visit to the region by European ambassadors.
According to eyewitnesses, Jewish settlers attacked the inhabitants of the village of Susiya with stones and sticks. When the clash broke out, the Israeli military intervened and fired noise grenades.
Some Palestinians were injured and received first aid on the spot.
The incident occurred at a time when ambassadors and consuls of European countries were visiting Palestinians – residents of Susia and nearby villages to listen to their concerns about attacks by Jewish settlers and the Israeli army.
The European Union (EU) Office in Jerusalem said that representatives of EU diplomatic missions, in particular the EU representative in the occupied Palestinian territories, Sven Kühn von Burgsdorf, visited villages south of Al-Khalil to learn about the difficulties faced by local residents.
