Israeli security forces detain Palestinian writer


Israeli security forces have detained 69-year-old Palestinian writer Ahmad Katamysh, a former leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, in the West Bank city of Al-Bira.

According to eyewitnesses, Israeli security forces raided the Katamysh house.

The security forces detained the writer and searched his home.

Writer and literary man Katamysh was previously detained by Israeli security forces several times. According to human rights organizations, Katamysh spent 14 years in Israeli prisons as a whole.

Israeli security forces frequently conduct raids in occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank. Detainees, including women and minors, are kept in temporary detention centers for days.
