After a sharp decline in new Covid-19 infections and serious illnesses, Israel is almost completely removing government restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the virus. The Health Ministry announced on Tuesday. As the DPA news agency reports, the rules under the so-called Green Passport will expire on the same day, which means that in the future public institutions will be open to both vaccinated and unvaccinated.
Many rules did not get exemption
Presentation of vaccination certificate will no longer be required as a pre-requisite for admission. In relation to this measure, all attendance and visitor limits for events, shops and restaurants will be abolished.
However, the compulsion to wear a mask inside the house will remain the same for the time being. Some obligations also apply when entering Israel.
The country of 90 lakh inhabitants is successfully implementing the vaccination campaign since December 19, 2020. In recent months there has been a sharp decline in new infections and serious diseases.
On Sunday, the number of new infections from coronaviruses dropped to its lowest level in more than a year. Only four cases were registered. Fewer new infections were recorded at the start of the global pandemic in early March 2020. The government gradually relaxed the Coronavirus restrictions.
