Since the beginning of the year, there have been 253 cases of violations of the rights of Palestinian journalists by Israel. This is stated in the report of the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedom.
According to the report, the number of cases of violations of freedom of expression in Palestine increased over the year compared with last year by 62 percent.
Moreover, Palestinian media workers are attacked even on social networks, where 43 offenses have taken place since the beginning of the year.
It is not uncommon for Palestinian journalists’ Facebook profiles to be blocked without any justification.
The report says that as a result of Israeli military strikes on the blocked Gaza Strip, the leading radio “Voice al-Aqsa” Yusuf Abu Hussein, as well as graduates of the journalism faculty Abdulhamit al-Kulek and Mohammed Shahin were killed.
The offices of 30 local and foreign media outlets were damaged.
